A Refreshing Look at the Modern Relationship

This book is a must read for anyone in a relationship. Ghose has created a map of relationship essentials that gently guides her readers through known relationship territory (accepting your partner), and some unknown relationship territory (inviting a third person into the relationship). All while consistently maintaining an open and non-judgemental stance. Her words feel like a comforting beacon of light, that illuminates a journey that will contain both moments of pain, pleasure and unknowing. I was particularly impressed with the way in which Ghose handles subjects such as porn, fetishes and polyamory. As stated previously, she seamlessly interweaves traditional subjects with the not-so-traditional, creating an inviting landscape in which to explore uncharted relationship territory. In Ghose's world, normal becomes whatever arises naturally when two people come together. Rather than forming a relationship based on preconceived, societal notions, Ghose inspires her readers to find form through experience, and reshape when necessary. The experience of reading this book was therapeutic in itself!

A truly engaging and contemplative journey of relationships.

Right from the start, the graceful, heartfelt forward welcomes you into some of life's topics I know everyone has experienced at least once, if not many times. I wasn't just reading a book, I felt like I was having an open and honest conversation, not only with Ghose as she offered her immense knowledge and vast experience, but also with myself. I reflected on how I navigated through my own relationships and as I continued to read, I learned even more lessons. To cap it off, the insightful addendum reveals what we experience during and after a breakup in a way I have never thought of before.
This was truly an amazing book that you can pick up and read every few months(and years!), continuing to learn about yourself and your relationships. I can't wait to read it again! Seriously, buy this book.

A great collection...approachable for everyone

Addressing issues that at one time or another have been considered taboo to think about let alone discuss Ghose has shed an insightful light on these topics in an an authoritative and accessible new way. Admittedly or not, we're all driven by our need to be loved, lusty and secure and this collection provides the reader with a deeper understanding of why we feel this way, what we'll do to feel this way and why it's OK.
Committed, married or single, there is something here for everyone.
