The painting is a beautiful reminder that high school marks the start of what should be a lifelong project: understanding the breadth and depth of knowledge that has come before us.

Worthless

How can they call this "Common Core Curriculum?" There is no curriculum here. In fact, there is nothing in this volume that you couldn't find by using any search engine. This "portfolio" simply provides a list of texts without offering any true instruction at all, and the suggested texts are the same ones that you would find in any outdated anthology. Don't spend your money on this. It's a prime example of a publishing company that is trying to make money off of teachers, so shame on them!

If there was a zero, I'd have given it that instead. It's almost not worth writing a review, except I don't want anyone else to purchase it. I've been teaching 23 years and this is one of the worst educational resources I've ever bought.

Great book. I liked that it had map layouts ...

Great book. I liked that it had map layouts for 9-12 grade. They were very straightforward and were perfect for a quick reference. The book provides maps with unit plans, suggestions for reading materials, extra resources, sample activities, common core standards addressed, sample lessons plans, etc. It was also nice that it was easy to read and not too long--perfect for busy teachers. I think it's also a great supplemental resource for first-time teachers.
