Colt, Huck and Jenny had been a trio since they were thirteen. Colt had always loved Jenny but because his best friend Huck had confided he too loved Jenny, Colt kept his feelings to himself. When Huck dies in an Air Force accident, Colt feels guilty for wanting Jenny for himself. Convincing Jenny that he's the right groom is another matter, especially when she's keeping a pretty huge secret herself. This was a wonderful feel good read with some heart wrenching moments. From earlier books we're learnt how much Colt loves Jenny, it was lovely to see him have his HEA.

Another great book by Joan Johnston! I just loved Colt to pieces! I was so glad to read about Jenny and Colt. Thank heavens, after all those years, she ended up with the right guy! You ached for Colt and his feelings for Jenny. It was hard to put this book down. The various characters in the book reach out and grab you too. Easy to see that books can follow about Jenny's brother, Randy with Faith and Colt's big brother Jack and Hope! At least we HOPE so. The Whitelaw's are such an exceptional family, by reading the books, you can be a part of the family, at least for awhile. And, Joan usually brings in some imperfection which is unusual, but more normal than the drop-dead gorgeous heroine! This is a reality check that many readers can relate to. Thanks Joan for entertaining us so well with another great read!

The Substitute Groom

Colt Whitelaw, Huck, and Jenny were an inseparable trio growing up. Colt and Huck both began to develop feelings for Jenny, but Huck asked her out first and Colt valued the friendship between them all too much to fight for her. When Huck is killed in an Air Force training accident and Colt survives, he moves back home and proposes to take Huck's place as Jenny's husband to be.

This was a short, fairly uneventful story that didn't really hold my interest. Recommended if you enjoy this series or if you want the build up to Sisters Found.

About the Author

Wilda Rinehart Gardner received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, Mississippi. After working as a staff nurse and charge� nurse, she became a public health nurse and served in that capacity for a number of years. In 1975, she received her nurse practitioner certification in the area of obstetrics-gynecology from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1979, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women. In 1980, she completed her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the same university and accepted a faculty position at Northeast Mississippi Community College, where she taught medical-surgical nursing and maternal-newborn nursing. In 1982, she founded Rinehart and Associates Nursing Consultants. For the past 26 years, she and her associates have worked with nursing graduates and schools of nursing to assist graduates to pass the National Council Licensure Exam for Nursing. She has also worked as a curriculum consultant with faculty to improve test construction. Ms. Rinehart has served as a convention speaker throughout the southeastern United States and as a reviewer of medical-surgical and obstetric texts. She has co-authored materials used in seminars presented by Rinehart and Associates Nursing Review.

Dr. Diann Sloan received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Northeast Mississippi Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Mississippi, and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women. In addition to her nursing degrees, she holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education, with minors in both Psychology and Educational Psychology, from Mississippi State University. She has completed additional graduate studies in healthcare administration at Western New England College and the University of Mississippi. Dr. Sloan has taught pediatric nursing, psychiatric mental health nursing, and medical-surgical nursing in both associate degree and baccalaureate nursing programs. As a member of Rinehart and Associates Nursing Review, Dr. Sloan has conducted test construction workshops for faculty and nursing review seminars for both registered and practical nurse graduates. She has co-authored materials used in the item-writing workshops for nursing faculty and Rinehart and Associates Nursing Review. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society.

Clara Hurd received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, Mississippi (1975). Her experiences in nursing are clinically based, having served as a staff nurse in medical-surgical nursing. She has worked as an oncology, intensive care, orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi. Ms. Hurd is a certified nurse educator. She currently serves as a nurse educator consultant and an independent contractor. Ms. Hurd has taught in both associate degree and baccalaureate degree nursing programs. She was a faculty member of Mississippi University for Women; Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee; Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee; and Northeast Mississippi Community College. Ms. Hurd joined Rinehart and Associates in 1993. She has worked with students in preparing for the National Council Licensure Exam and with faculty as a consultant in writing test items. Ms. Hurd has also been a presenter at nursing conventions on various topics, including itemwriting� for nursing faculty. Her primary professional goal is to prepare the student and graduatefor excellence in the delivery of healthcare.

I passed my NCLEX

I did very well in class, but this book filled in a lot of gaps in certain subjects. This is the comprehensive version but it isn't so detailed that it makes you feel like you're just going through your nursing textbook again. I felt as though it had just the right information to help me link disorder with diagnostic with treatments/medications. The CD that comes with the book has a good system to help you learn why you're answering question wrong or right. I'd recommend this book for sure, just read it before doing the CD, I did it backwards and it made the CD much harder... I passed my NCLEX in 85 questions in little over an hour.

Highly Recommend--It's like Cliff-notes for NCLEX-PN

I initially tried the kindle sample for this book after seeing a fellow classmate with it. I was on the fence about whether to buy it because my NCLEX-PN date was quickly approaching. After reading the sample, I decided that it would be worth purchasing, and that I would buy it in the book format so that it was easier to do the questions at the end of the chapters and the practice quizzes. I purchased it on 1/5/15 and was scheduled to take the boards on 1/24/15. I highly recommend this book! It's like the cliff notes version of what you need to know for the boards. The book said to allow for at least 2 weeks to study, which I did. I tried to do a chapter a night for review, but sometimes did more since some chapters are shorter than others. The tear out sheet was also helpful for last minute reviews as I was waiting to take the boards. I passed the NCLEX on my first try with 85 questions (which is the minimum number of questions). I will be purchasing the NCLEX-RN when I am ready to take those boards.

I brought this book 8/31/14 the book came early .... I studying the day I recieve it which was 9/3/14...this book fit perfectly in my purse it went everywhere with me, I took my Nclex-pn on 11/21/14 and passed. This book has great tips it get to the point and gives great break down on symptoms of diseases, labs, and treatments. It comes with a whole bunch of questions I like their practice questions because in some of the other nclex books/cd-rom the same questions are repeated over and over again and you start to memorize them instead of learning why this is the rational.

South Dakota-based Strand, a general practitioner for nearly a quarter century, turned his attention to nutrition in the mid-90s when traditional medical approaches failed to help his wife's chronic fatigue. In his authorial debut, Strand preaches vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and other nutritional supplements with the zeal of a new convert. His opponents are formidable: the government, food suppliers and the medical establishment who, Strand says, disregard evidence that the RDA recommendations are inadequate to supply us with the weapons to fight chronic diseases. Chapters cover "Oxidative Stress and Your Eyes," "Cellular Nutrition" and "Homocysteine: New Kid on the Block," among other ailments and panaceas. Despite the alarmist title, those who suffer from or are at risk for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, auto-immune disorders and lung disease may want to weigh the evidence for themselves; Stand's book is designed to provide an alternative perspective that aids in doing so, though it also includes various supplemental regimens he has devised. His message, after all, is fundamentally a simple one: let's protect and care for our bodies, Strand says, and "may we all live until we die."

About the Author
Ray D. Strand, M.D., graduated from the University of Colorado Medical School and finished his post-graduate training at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. He has been involved in an active private family practice for the past thirty years, and has focused his practice on nutritional medicine over the past seven years while lecturing internationally on the subject. Dr. Strand lives on a horse ranch in South Dakota with his lovely wife, Elizabeth. They have three grown children.

A book by which we find the healthies ways in which to be cured from many sicknesses.

The book is printed in 2002, but I must say that it’s hard to that it would be different if it first was printed this year, this because the antioxidant advises nearly is up to date, and because unfortunately still most doctors still don’t understand the importance in natural antioxidants, but instead blindly only trusts drugs. Still we read that only 7 % of doctors learn about vitamins and minerals, and that doctors tend to look at nutrients as being drugs.

Even though I own around 300 doctors and health books I still by this book found important information. Especially I now see how helpful, and important, the Grape seed extract is in many sickness cases, besides by increasing the results from the vitamins and minerals. And when I then looked in my other books after Grape seed extract I found that I had forgotten what I earlier there had read as I nearly found nothing about it. And actually I’m going to buy Grape seed extract, to see if it can help in solving some of the problems which my wife during some years has talked about.

In the book is interesting to read that when Ray was studied medical then the cholesterol level less than 320 was considered being normal, while now it the has fallen to 200, but that this in reality being a misunderstanding about LDL, as LDL is very healthy except for part of it which might have been oxidized. So only seldom the problem is the total cholesterol number, but instead id there are some oxidized LDL; just like we have the oxidizing problem to watch for throughout the body.

Among other it’s delightful in the book to read the many cases, as most of these being truly amazing. For example, in the diabetes chapter we read about Joe whose ratio triglyceride / HDL was 40, by the cholesterol measure, while not allowed being higher than 2, if preventing diabetes. And then by changing his lifestyle after just 12 weeks his triticale ratio already had been turned down to only 2.5.

But by in the book reading about the doctor misbelief in nutritional medicine, I clearly recall my own battle with doctors here in Chiang Mai, during now 13 years, mostly concerning the way in which they blindly believe to cures cholesterol and cancer. For example, when I back in 2011 received the book by Cohen, Suzy, RPH.: “Drug Muggers: Which Medications are Robbing Your Body of Essential Nutrients”, I then discovered that the drug which a doctor had put me on against stress, not was good for persons eating banana, or rice, which I daily are getting. I shoved the book to the doctor, but it didn’t chance anything in the hospital, the drug continued in being giving to patients. And I also from the book Burt Berkson, MD, PhD.: “The Alpha Lipoic Acid Breakthrough”, recalled how he would have been fired, hadn’t it come to the news, after he 2 * 2 times had saved the life of patients, poisoned by fungi, because he used ALA, (Alpha linolenic acid), which the hospital didn’t know about.

Great and an awesome book!

The book is very thorough and specific in its contents and information about the roles of supplements and vitamins. It is easy to acquire the degenerative conditions if we take our health for granted. The book puts great emphasis on cell nutrition which people ignore because of lack of knowledge and information. I highly recommend this book to everyone not only to those who have chronic degenerative conditions but even to those who want to have a healthier life inorder to enjoy their lives to its fullest. I also recommend this book to all health care professionals especially MD's, nurses, pharmacists, and other disciplines to let them know that the human body has the ability to heal itself or to prevent chronic degenerative diseases through a change of lifestyle with emphasis on healthy diet, exercise and nutrition.

Dr. Strand educates readers that the oxidative stress, the process that causes iron to rust or a cut apple to turn brown, is the root cause for coronary artery disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, arthritis, macular degeneration, cataracts, Alzheimer's dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and the rheumatoid arthritis. Those chronic degenerative diseases covered most major disease known to mankind and are responsible for most people suffering or dying.
One of my biggest surprises is that cholesterol is not the culprit behind heart disease; the inflammation of blood vessels is. This is new from what we have been educated.
Our own body's immune systems are the best defense against a chronic degenerative disease - not the drugs doctors can prescribe. High quality nutritional Supplements proved to enhance our body immune, nature antioxidant defense and nature repair system.
I had heart disease which nearly caused a fatal heart attack! I had eye problems which four leading eye doctors told me there is no cure. And every cold season, I have throat infection, fever; running nose & cough that may also led to Pneumonia. Following Dr. Strand's "Preventive Medicine & Complementary Medicine" advices, I find fish oil with rich Omega III and high quality Nutritional Supplements are very helpful for all my three medical problems.
